The response was not immediate, plunging Rollins into a period of agonizing suspense. “So, uh you know, it’s like Sunday night. I’m like, ‘I’m going to sign it in the morning.’ 15 minutes later, he calls me back. Hey, kid. Uh let me uh let me talk to my people,” Rollins recounted.

The subsequent wait was excruciating. “He didn’t tell me nothing yet. He didn’t like give me any indication. He said, ‘We’ll call you back in the morning.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, God.’ And oh god. So now I’m like sitting on it, you know? I’m waiting like I mean I couldn’t sleep that night. I was just like, ‘Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on.’ Cuz it could have just been easy. He come back and he just say, ‘Ah, nah, never mind.’ You know, so nothing was on the table.”

The call finally came, and it was the validation Rollins had been waiting for. “And then when he called back, he’s like, you know, we’re going to give you an opportunity, dude. I like I remember where I was standing. I remember where I was looking. I remember everything,” he said, the memory still vivid.

The financial aspect became secondary to the chance to pursue his ultimate ambition. “I didn’t give I didn’t give it damn how much the money was for. I didn’t care. I was like, that’s all I ever wanted was an opportunity. This is the biggest wrestling company in the world. This is my dream. This is all I ever wanted,” Rollins emphasized.

He reiterated the magnitude of his decision, stating, “I’m like, I do not even care. Like, I turned down probably at least triple the money to go to the other place to just I’m like, I can this is where I can make my way.”
