Fudd believes that putting in the extra work has made her fall in love with the process. “I feel like I’ve fallen in love with the process of what it takes to become, you know, deserving to be at the level that you’re at,” she stated. She’s eager to continue learning and growing at the next level, surrounded by more greatness.

Family and Resilience Fuel Her Fire

Fudd’s name itself holds a special meaning, inspired by WNBA legend Jennifer Azzi. She feels her mom truly manifested this moment for her. “It means everything,” Fudd said, looking around at her family. Her parents, brothers, grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, and best friend are all there to support her. “I am surrounded by everyone I love and that’s poured into me to help me get to this place.”

This moment is even more special considering the tough times she’s overcome. Fudd has faced multiple long injury recoveries, making her return to the court a significant achievement. “No matter who you are, what you go through, you go through that phase of being injured where you’re like, will I make it back? Will I be the same player? Will I be good enough?” she reflected.

Pushing through those challenges has made her stronger. “Going through all that adversity, through those injuries has showed me that I am good enough. I am strong enough. I’m resilient. I’m strong,” Fudd declared. She sees this full-circle moment as something that has truly shaped her into the player and person she is today.

While Fudd has supported teammates at previous drafts, this is her moment to shine. Her teammates have been encouraging her to “soak it all up.” But Fudd emphasizes that her success is a shared journey. “I am here because of everyone that’s poured into me. So, it’s my moment, but it’s our moment,” she shared. She cherishes the support, even the playful comments about her outfits.
