US Military Strikes Iran, DHS Funding Crisis Looms
The U.S. military is intensifying Operation Epic Fury against Iran, successfully crippling the regime's capabilities and achieving air dominance. Meanwhile, a funding crisis looms for the Department of Homeland Security, with the White House blaming Democrats for disruptions to air travel and unpaid TSA workers.
US Military Intensifies Operation Epic Fury Against Iran
The United States military is significantly increasing its advantage over Iranian forces as part of Operation Epic Fury, according to White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt. Speaking on Wednesday, Leavitt stated that the operation is proceeding successfully and according to plan, with the aim of crippling the Iranian regime’s capabilities.
More than 11 enemy targets have been struck to date, with each strike reportedly weakening Iran’s ability to launch attacks and defend itself. This has created greater leverage for the U.S. and its allies. The number of Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks has fallen by approximately 90% since the operation began.
The U.S. Navy has also played a significant role, destroying over 150 Iranian naval vessels, including 92% of their largest ships. As a result, the Iranian Navy is no longer operating in major regional waterways and lacks the ability to project naval power, rendering it combat ineffective.
Furthermore, nearly 70% of Iran’s missile, drone, and naval production facilities and shipyards have been damaged or destroyed. This significantly reduces their future threat potential in the region.
Air Dominance Achieved Over Iran
Joint U.S. and Israeli forces have asserted air dominance over Iran, completing over 11,000 successful combat flights. The trend shows the U.S. conducting more intense, targeted strikes with devastating power each day to neutralize the threat posed by the Iranian regime.
Leavitt suggested that these military actions are making the Iranian regime more eager to negotiate. “Despite all of the public posturing you hear from the regime, and false reporting, talks are continuing and going well,” she stated. “What is said publicly is of course much different than what’s being communicated to us, privately.”
Iran Offered ‘Once in a Generation’ Deal
President Trump has issued a 10-day pause on planned strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure. This pause is seen as a “once in a generation opportunity” for the regime to make a deal with the United States. The proposed deal would require Iran to permanently abandon its nuclear ambitions and cease its role as a leading state sponsor of terrorism.
“If the Iranians reject this golden opportunity, the greatest military in the history of the world continues to stand by to provide President Trump with every option available to ensure this regime continues to pay a grave price, one way or another,” Leavitt added. The ultimate goal is to ensure Iran no longer has the credible ability to threaten the United States or its allies.
DHS Funding Crisis Threatens National Security
While President Trump is focused on foreign threats, Leavitt criticized Democrats in Congress for failing to fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This inaction has reportedly pushed the air travel system to its breaking point, causing massive disruptions for Americans.
Over the past six weeks, the lack of funding has led to approximately 500 TSA officers quitting and thousands more calling out due to unpaid wages. This has resulted in security wait times exceeding three hours at major airports, creating significant hardship for millions of travelers. Morale among TSA staff has also plummeted, creating an unacceptable security risk.
Trump Administration Acts to Ensure TSA Pay
Determined that the circumstances constituted an emergency compromising American security, President Trump signed a presidential memorandum last week. This directive tasks the Secretary of Homeland Security and the Office of Management and Budget to use available funds to ensure TSA employees receive their compensation and benefits.
“President Trump will always do what’s right by the American people. And he found a way to do that to get TSA paid,” Leavitt stated. She emphasized that this action ensures federal workers performing critical public safety responsibilities can feed their families and pay their rent.
Immigration Policy and Media Coverage Under Scrutiny
The briefing also addressed concerns about the administration’s immigration policy. Leavitt clarified that while there has been a change in leadership at DHS, the policy remains consistent: deporting the “worst of the worst” illegal alien criminals from communities.
She highlighted the case of a young woman in Chicago allegedly killed by an undocumented immigrant from Venezuela, criticizing the media for its limited coverage. “I think her life was worth more than 23 seconds on cable television,” Leavitt asserted, urging reporters to cover such cases to underscore the importance of the president’s deportation policies.
The White House maintains that Democrats are responsible for the DHS funding crisis and the resulting issues at airports and with employee pay, accusing them of prioritizing partisan politics over national security and the well-being of Americans.
