Trump Details Iran Offensive, Vows Nuclear Blockade
In a special report address, President Trump provided an update on military operations against Iran, emphasizing the nation’s commitment to preventing Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Speaking from the White House, Trump detailed the progress of what he termed “Operation of the Theory” and “Operation Epic Fury,” outlining a strategy to dismantle Iran’s military capabilities and nuclear program.
Ending Iran’s Nuclear Ambitions
President Trump reiterated his long-standing pledge, made since his 2015 presidential campaign, to never allow Iran to possess nuclear weapons. He described the Iranian regime as “fanatical” and highlighted its history of hostility, including chants of “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” for 47 years. Trump cited Iran’s alleged involvement in attacks that killed American servicemen, the attack on the USS Cole, and the atrocities of October 7th in Israel. He also pointed to the regime’s violent suppression of its own citizens, stating that 45,000 Iranians were killed for protesting.
“This murderous regime also recently killed 45,000 of their own people who were protesting in Iran. 45,000 dead. For these terrorists to have nuclear weapons would be intolerable,” President Trump stated.
The President asserted that a nuclear-armed Iran would be free to carry out terror, coercion, and mass murder from behind a nuclear shield. He criticized the previous administration’s Iran nuclear deal, calling it a “disaster” that would have led to a “colossal arsenal of massive nuclear weapons for Iran.” Trump claimed that without his intervention, the Middle East and Israel might not exist today.
Military Actions and Objectives
Trump detailed specific military actions, including an order in June for strikes on Iran’s key nuclear facilities under “Operation Midnight Hammer.” He credited B-2 bombers for “magnificently” obliterating these sites. The offensive continued with “Operation Epic Fury,” aimed at systematically dismantling Iran’s ability to threaten America or project power. Key objectives included the destruction of Iran’s navy, crippling its air force and missile program, and annihilating its defense industrial base.
The President reported significant success, stating Iran’s navy and air force are gone, and its missile program is severely degraded. He claimed these actions would “cripple Iran’s military, crush their ability to support terrorist proxies, and deny them the ability to build a nuclear bomb.” He also noted that Iran had been rapidly building conventional ballistic missiles capable of reaching the American homeland and beyond.
Honoring Fallen Warriors and Economic Strength
Trump paid tribute to the 13 American warriors who lost their lives in the conflict, emphasizing the need to complete the mission for which they sacrificed. He spoke of visiting Dover Air Force Base to be with the families of fallen service members, who urged him to “finish the job.”
Addressing concerns about rising gasoline prices, Trump attributed the short-term increase to Iranian “deranged terror attacks” against commercial oil tankers. He used this to further argue that Iran cannot be trusted with nuclear weapons, predicting decades of extortion and instability if they were to acquire them. He highlighted the strength of the U.S. economy, stating it was the strongest in history and was positioned to confront this threat. He mentioned the “Drill, Baby, Drill” program, which he credited with making America the number one producer of oil and gas, surpassing Saudi Arabia and Russia combined.
Future Outlook and Diplomacy
While emphasizing the military successes, Trump also mentioned ongoing discussions, stating that “regime change was not our goal.” However, he noted that “regime change has occurred because of all of their original leaders’ death.” He suggested that if no deal is reached, the U.S. would target Iran’s electric generating plants and potentially its oil infrastructure, which he described as the easiest target but one they had avoided to allow for rebuilding.
The President predicted that once the conflict is over, the Strait of Hormuz would open naturally, and gas prices would rapidly decrease. He concluded by stating that America’s military objectives are nearing completion, with further actions planned over the next two to three weeks to bring Iran “back to the Stone Age.” He expressed confidence that the United States is on the cusp of ending Iran’s threat, making America “safer, stronger, more prosperous, and greater than it has ever been before.”
