Israel and U.S. Maintain Daily Dialogue Amidst Escalating Iran Tensions

In a significant display of allied coordination, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. President Donald Trump are engaged in daily communication to address the escalating threat posed by the Iranian regime. David Mensah, spokesperson for the Israeli Prime Minister, emphasized the deep and broad cooperation between the two nations, extending from military operations to nearly all levels of government. This close collaboration, he stated, is crucial for ensuring the “peace of mankind” as they confront Iran, which he described as a threat not only to Israel but also to its neighbors and Europe.

Operation “Rising Lion”: Israel’s Clear Objective Against Iran

Mensah elaborated on Israel’s central war aim, dubbed “Operation Rising Lion,” which he defined as a sustained effort against Iran. The operation’s objective, he clarified, is to fundamentally damage the Iranian terror regime and neutralize the existential threat it presents to the State of Israel. “We are striking relentlessly with our U.S. partners at the murderous regime in Tehran. We are deepening the damage to it and we’re undermining it,” Mensah stated, asserting that with each passing day, the regime weakens and loses its grip.

“Our objectives are crystal clear. This regime cannot continue and we’re taking apart every single element of it.”

Creating a “Portal” for Iranian Freedom

While the immediate goal is to dismantle the Iranian regime’s capabilities, Mensah articulated a nuanced approach to regime change. He explained that Israel’s actions are designed to create a “portal” or a “doorway” through which the Iranian people can eventually achieve freedom. He highlighted that an estimated 80% of Iran’s population is against the current regime, which he accused of subjugating its own people and committing severe human rights abuses, including the reported murder of over 30,000 citizens in January alone.

“We are fundamentally taking it apart day by day. But we’re not saying the words regime change. But what we are saying is that we are creating a portal whereby maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but in a very very short time, the Iranian people will have the opportunity to walk through that portal, walk through that doorway and grab hold of freedom,” Mensah explained. He stressed that the regime’s brutality, including threats of summary execution for protestors, underscores the urgency of this opportunity.

Iran’s Regional and Global Destabilization Efforts

Mensah underscored that Iran’s hostile actions extend far beyond its borders. He pointed to Iran’s past and potential future aggressions, including firing at its neighbors, Europe, Cyprus, and effectively at the UK. This regional destabilization, he argued, is part of a broader agenda that also targets the United States. Mensah urged Western nations, including the UK, not to underestimate the threat, citing evidence of Iranian efforts to enact terrorism on British streets.

“They say death to Israel, death to America, but they’re after you guys as well. You don’t need to take my word for it. You can take your own security services’ word for it,” he warned, referencing the role of the Iranian regime in destabilizing the UK.

Addressing International Concerns and Allied Alignment

Responding to potential criticisms, particularly from the UK government, regarding the legality and aims of the operation, Mensah defended the U.S.-Israel partnership. He argued that international law failed to protect Israel from the October 7th attacks, which he attributed to Iranian proxies like Hamas, and similarly failed to prevent the 9/11 attacks on the U.S.

“International law didn’t protect Israel from October the 7th. Which was an Iranian operation. Hamas are a proxy of Iran,” Mensah stated. He positioned the joint operation as a service to the world, aimed at dismantling a regime that threatens regional peace and hinders the expansion of the Abraham Accords, fostering greater cooperation in the Middle East.

The U.S.-Israel Partnership: A “Best Tag Team”

Mensah lauded the U.S.-Israel relationship as perhaps the “best tag team in geopolitical history.” He emphasized the unprecedented closeness and daily coordination between Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Trump, highlighting that cooperation spans virtually every governmental level, including the military. This unified front, he asserted, is vital for collective security and global stability.

“I can tell you our my prime minister and President Trump are in daily contact. Uh there is cooperation at almost every single level of government from our military to every single area and we’re in this uh together for the peace of mankind,” Mensah declared.

Looking Ahead: The Path to Iranian Freedom

Mensah concluded by reiterating that the war will end once Israel achieves its objectives. He stressed that the choice of leadership in Iran ultimately rests with the Iranian people, but that the U.S.-Israel actions are creating the necessary conditions for them to seize their destiny. He urged the Iranian people to “grab hold of the opportunity while you can because you may not get this opportunity again,” emphasizing that the joint actions target only regime elements, not civilians, and aim to foster a free and peaceful Iran desired by the majority of its citizens.
