Dem Lawmaker Slams Trump: “Most Criminal Person Ever President”
Democratic Congressman Robert Garcia has voiced grave concerns over President Trump's fitness for office, calling for immediate action under the 25th Amendment. Citing the president's alleged threats and detachment from advisors, Garcia described the current situation as a constitutional crisis, criticizing Republican inaction and the lack of congressional oversight.
Democrat Sounds Alarm on President’s Fitness for Office
Washington D.C. – A leading Democrat has issued a stark warning about the current president’s mental state and fitness for duty. Congressman Robert Garcia, the ranking member on the House Oversight Committee, described the situation as “insane” and “a very dangerous moment for a very dangerous president.” He argued that the president is “out of control” and that those around him must uphold their duty to the Constitution.
Calls for 25th Amendment Invocation
Garcia specifically called for the invocation of the 25th Amendment, which allows for the removal of a president who is unable to discharge the powers and duties of their office. “He must be removed,” Garcia stated, emphasizing the need for checks and balances on presidential power. He expressed concern that the current political climate is caught up in “political petulance” rather than addressing the immediate constitutional crisis.
Constitutional Crisis Over War Powers
The congressman highlighted the president’s authority to launch war and his alleged threats to “nuke or destroy an entire country and people.” From a constitutional standpoint, Garcia believes the nation is in a crisis. He criticized House Speaker Mike Johnson for adjourning Congress, preventing lawmakers from being in session to address the escalating situation. “The idea that Mike Johnson let Congress out, that everyone is back in their districts and he won’t open the doors of the House floor so we can actually have a war,” Garcia lamented, “is where this country is at.”
Republican Inaction Criticized
Garcia voiced frustration with the Republican Party’s response, or lack thereof, to the president’s actions and statements. “It is crazy the Republican Party, including his Senate and members in Congress are saying we have a president threatening to destroy an entire population of people in a war that we have no clear mission, we have no idea why we’re still there,” he said. He noted that despite the president making “crazy things” over the weekend, the Republican leadership is “doing absolutely nothing.”
Report Details Cabinet Ambivalence on Israel Conflict
Citing a New York Times report, Garcia revealed details about internal discussions regarding an Israeli military action. According to the report, the cabinet was “ambivalent,” the Vice President was “opposed,” and intelligence leaders described Israeli objectives as “farcical.” The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs reportedly dismissed the Israeli plans as typical overselling. When translated for the president, these concerns were reportedly dismissed as “bullshit.”
President’s Detachment from Advisors
Garcia questioned how detached the president is from his own national security officials, suggesting he prefers to listen to Israeli leadership over his own advisors. “It’s clear that President Trump rather listen to Netanyahu and Israel than he does to his own people or to his own advisors,” Garcia stated. He pointed to rising gas prices and healthcare costs for struggling Americans, contrasting them with the nation’s involvement in a war that he claims has no clear national security purpose or imminent threat.
Lack of Congressional Input and Public Awareness
The congressman stressed the absence of meaningful involvement from Congress and the American public in decisions leading to war. “The president right now seems to essentially be tweeting out, putting out on True Social whatever he wants. And we’re out here reacting, not in D.C., without any sort of Congress that isn’t actually being the check and balance that it’s supposed to be in the Constitution,” he explained. He urged the Republican Party to recognize the gravity of being “dragged into a war that we should not be in.”
Concerns Over President’s Stability and Military Orders
Garcia expressed doubt that the president’s threats would be acted upon, referencing a market phenomenon called “Trump always GET THEM OUT OF THEIR HISTORIC CHICKENS OUT.” However, he still believes the president has “lost his mind” and is incapable of serving. He reiterated the call for the 25th Amendment to be used immediately. Furthermore, he stated he does not trust the president or his associates, calling him “the most corrupt person to ever be president, the most criminal person to ever be president.” He believes the president “could care less about humanity or the destruction of another country.”
Appeal to Military Leadership
The congressman made a direct appeal to the men and women serving in the military, particularly those in leadership positions. He urged them “to not take orders to destroy and kill more people.” Garcia believes that not only the cabinet but also those guarding national and global security have a responsibility to “do the right thing.” He indicated that many are encouraging conversations within the military to avoid “taking this bait” and being led into disaster by leaders like Netanyahu and Trump. He called for a united country to recognize the president’s unfitness and address the situation immediately.
