Epstein Survivor Blindsided by Melania Trump’s Statement

A survivor of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse has voiced shock and disappointment following remarks made by former First Lady Melania Trump. Danielle Benski, who was recruited by Epstein in 2004 and endured years of abuse, stated that survivors felt “completely blindsided” by Trump’s comments. Benski was speaking on the uncertainty surrounding statements from the former First Lady, noting that many expected different voices to speak out on the issue.

Survivor Feels Burden Shifted by Trump’s Words

Melania Trump suggested that each woman should have “a day to tell her story in public” and have their testimony permanently entered into the congressional record to “have the truth.” However, Benski interpreted these remarks as placing the burden on survivors to come forward publicly. “We’ve been asking for proper investigations and for trials to move through this the right way from the very beginning,” Benski explained. She feels this approach is a “master class in the art of deflection” by the administration, shifting focus away from crucial investigations and accountability.

Calls for Accountability: Bondi, Blanche, and the DOJ

Benski highlighted that the conversation should be about individuals like Pam Bondi, who has so far avoided testifying before Congress despite a subpoena. Her lawyers argue that her status as no longer being the Attorney General removes her obligation to appear. The survivor also questioned the actions of Todd Blanche, the acting Attorney General. Benski pointed out that Blanche’s current stance contradicts earlier statements suggesting nothing was mishandled and that people should “move on.”

“The burden needs to be on the DOJ. The burden needs to be on the FBI. We have an FBI. We have a DOJ. They need to do their jobs.”

Safety Concerns and Demands for Transparency

The survivor expressed serious concerns about the safety of victims who might publicly share their stories as suggested by Trump. “If we go in front of Congress and we start naming names and we like open ourselves up to that, it puts us in a line of like we would be open for lawsuits at the very minimum,” Benski stated. She elaborated on the risks, including defamation lawsuits and even physical safety threats like being followed home at night. Without proper safety precautions, Benski argued, this approach is dangerous.

Files Release and Investigation Focus

Benski reiterated the ongoing demand from survivors for the release of files and greater transparency. “We have been asking for the release of the files. We have been asking for the transparency so that we can follow investigative leads,” she said. The goal, according to Benski, is to initiate proper investigations. Survivors feel they are being used as “political pawns” and pushed into a political arena they do not wish to be part of. The focus, she stressed, should be on releasing all files and conducting thorough investigations, not on political maneuvering.

Questions Surrounding Redactions and Perpetrator Protection

A significant point of contention for Benski is the process of redacting documents related to the Epstein case. She noted a lack of discussion about how these redactions were made or why. “We know that perpetrators have been redacted time and time again, and yet my information is still, even after three rounds, after my lawyer speaking to everybody,” Benski revealed. She expressed frustration that even after attempts to remove personal information, her last name could still be found in documents. This leads to the disturbing conclusion that “we’re still protecting the wrong people. We’re still protecting the perpetrators and the power.”

Scrutiny on Ghislaine Maxwell’s Treatment

Benski also questioned the handling of Ghislaine Maxwell’s case, particularly her transfer to a new facility. She described Maxwell’s current situation as being “at a spa, basically,” highlighting the perceived lenient treatment. “How- what was that procedure? How, after one conversation, she was moved to this new facility,” Benski asked, emphasizing that the American people and survivors have a right to know the details of such decisions. She suggested that Todd Blanche, who allegedly “gave Ghislaine the second sweetheart deal,” should be subpoenaed to answer these questions.

Looking Ahead: Demands for Action

The focus for survivors remains clear: full transparency, thorough investigations, and accountability for all involved. As legal and political processes continue, the demand for justice and safety for victims is paramount. The actions, or inactions, of the Department of Justice and the FBI will be closely watched. Survivors are waiting for the system to work as it should, prioritizing truth and the well-being of those who have suffered.
