President Trump Details Iran Negotiations, Claims ‘Regime Change’

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, President Donald Trump characterized recent negotiations with Iran as highly productive, suggesting significant progress toward a potential deal. He stated that Iran had agreed to send numerous oil boats through the Strait of Hormuz, a move he described as a sign of respect and a tribute. These shipments are expected to begin shortly. Trump also asserted that Iran had destroyed numerous targets, while the U.S. Navy and Air Force had also struck many Iranian targets, marking what he called a “big day.” The President indicated that discussions with Iran were occurring both directly and indirectly through emissaries.

Trump drew parallels between the current situation and past actions, referencing the termination of the Iran nuclear deal under the Obama administration, which he called “one of the dumbest deals we’ve ever done.” He stated that his administration had prevented Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon through these actions. He also claimed that his administration had achieved “regime change” in Iran, describing the previous regimes as “decimated” and “destroyed,” and the current leadership as “much more reasonable” and “very reasonable.” He believes this constitutes a form of regime change that is an imperative for the country.

New White House Ballroom Design Revealed

During the conversation, President Trump shifted focus to a new architectural design for a White House ballroom, a project he stated had been desired for 150 years. He explained that existing rooms are too small to accommodate visiting dignitaries like China’s President Xi. The proposed ballroom, designed to match the height of the White House, is expected to be the finest of its kind globally. Renderings show the structure fitting seamlessly with the existing architecture, featuring hand-carved Corinthian columns and bulletproof, drone-proof glass.

Trump emphasized that the project is ahead of schedule and under budget, funded entirely by himself and donors, with no government money involved. He noted that a large military complex is being built beneath the ballroom, which he described as a “shed” for the military’s needs. He also addressed reports suggesting some windows were fake, denying this and stating all windows are high-grade bulletproof glass. The design aims to pay homage to the White House and will overlook significant national monuments.

Trump Criticizes Democrats on Border Security and Filibuster

The President also addressed domestic policy, expressing strong criticism of the Democratic Party regarding border security and legislative tactics. He called for the termination of the filibuster in the Senate, arguing that Republicans should vote on measures like voter ID laws and proof of citizenship. Trump labeled Democrats as “sick individuals” and “terrorists” for their stance on border policies, asserting that they want open borders to allow more people into the country for electoral gain.

He praised the current administration’s focus on removing criminals and drug lords who he claims were allowed into the country by the Biden administration. Trump highlighted that crime numbers have improved significantly, reaching historic lows, and attributed this to his administration’s policies. He stated that ICE and Border Patrol are vital to protecting the country from what he termed “animals” sent into the U.S.

On Other International and Domestic Matters

Addressing other international topics, Trump commented on Cuba, calling it a “mess” and a “failing country” that would be “next” to experience change. He also mentioned a report about a Russian oil tanker heading to Cuba, stating he had no problem with countries sending oil to Cuba, as the people need it for survival, and that it would not significantly impact Vladimir Putin. He reiterated that Iran’s regime was bad and corrupt, and that oil shipments would not alter its fate.

Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, Trump asserted that the U.S. could close it in “two minutes” if necessary. He also stated that Gulf countries like Saudi Arabia and Qatar are actively fighting back against attacks from Iran. When asked about paying TSA workers, he confirmed they would be paid as long as needed, praising ICE workers for their efforts in removing criminals.

Finally, Trump discussed the proposed “Save America Act,” which includes provisions for voter ID and stopping mail-in ballots. He criticized Democrats for opposing these measures, suggesting their opposition stems from a desire to cheat in elections. He also touched on the issue of men playing in women’s sports and transgender issues, stating his opposition to these policies.
