President Trump Addresses Military Action in Iran and Domestic Policy

President Donald Trump convened a Cabinet meeting to provide updates on both international military operations and domestic policy concerns, including the ongoing government shutdown and border security. During the session, Trump detailed the significant military actions taken against Iran and strongly defended his administration’s approach to immigration and border control.

Operation Epic Fury: Decisive Action Against Iran

President Trump described the military campaign in Iran, dubbed “Operation Epic Fury,” as a resounding success. He stated that over the past three weeks, Iran’s military capabilities have been “obliterated” to an extent few have witnessed. The operation, according to Trump, has crippled Iran’s missile and drone stockpiles, destroyed its defense industrial base, and effectively eliminated its navy and air force.

“We have the strongest military anywhere in the world by far,” Trump asserted. “We’re crushing their missiles and drone stockpiles, destroying their defense industrial base. We’ve wiped out their navy completely, their air force completely.” He elaborated that approximately 90% of Iran’s missile launchers and a significant portion of its missiles have been destroyed. Furthermore, factories producing drones and missiles have also been targeted and damaged.

Trump also claimed that Iran is “begging to make a deal,” contradicting reports from what he termed “fake news.” He emphasized that the military action was necessary to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, a threat he believes has existed for decades due to past administrations’ policies.

Diplomatic Efforts and a “Peace Through Strength” Policy

The administration has also been pursuing diplomatic avenues. Secretary of State Steve Whit reported that while diplomatic efforts were made prior to the military operation, they failed to achieve Trump’s objectives, such as complete cessation of enrichment and missile stockpiling. “We have no doubt that we exhausted all efforts on behalf of a peaceful resolution as you directed,” Whit told the President.

However, following the military successes, there have been “multiple reachouts from the region and others who want to play a role in ending this conflict peacefully.” Whit announced that a “15-point action list” has been presented as a framework for a peace deal, with the Pakistani government acting as a mediator. He noted positive messaging in talks, stressing that the policy of “peace through strength” is the most effective tool for resolution.

Border Security and Government Shutdown

Turning to domestic issues, President Trump linked the ongoing government shutdown to the Democrats’ stance on border security and immigration. He criticized Democrats, including Senator Schumer, for what he described as policies favoring “open borders and give amnesty to illegal alien criminals.”

“They’re punishing the American people, including travelers at airports, all in the quest to return to open borders and give amnesty to illegal alien criminals,” Trump stated. He accused Democrats of supporting “sanctuary cities” that harbor criminals and asserted that his administration has removed many such individuals.

Trump demanded an immediate end to the shutdown, warning of “very drastic measures” if it continues. He suggested that the public is aware of the situation and is angry with the Democrats’ approach, which he believes is harming the country.

Economic Achievements and Support for Farmers

The President also highlighted his administration’s economic achievements, noting that the Dow Jones Industrial Average reached 50,000 and the S&P 500 hit 7,000. He attributed these successes to deregulation and increased investment. “We’re slashing regulations and investment is pouring in from all over the world,” he said.

Additionally, Trump announced a new initiative to support American farmers, providing $12 billion in aid using tariff money. He explained that this support is a response to farmers being mistreated by some countries and expressed gratitude for their hard work and resilience.

Future Outlook

As Operation Epic Fury progresses ahead of schedule, the administration remains focused on ensuring Iran does not obtain nuclear weapons. Simultaneously, Trump’s administration is pushing for a resolution to the government shutdown by emphasizing border security and continuing to promote its economic agenda. The coming weeks will likely see continued developments in both international military actions and domestic political negotiations.
