Roy also touched upon the President’s decision to release oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, contrasting it with what he characterized as the depletion of reserves under policies he attributes to Joe Biden, which he claims “demolished our oil business.”

Congressman Roy’s Accusations Against Democrats on DHS Funding

He drew a parallel to historical construction feats, suggesting that the U.S. possesses the capability to build infrastructure rapidly when impediments are removed.

“If the President can continue to do what he’s doing and if Congress will back him up on things like NEPA and all the regulations that that slow us down, we built the Empire State Building in 15 months. We can get a refinery up and running.”

Roy concluded by stressing the importance of energy independence for both economic prosperity and national security, stating that the U.S. is no longer reliant on volatile sources like Venezuela or Iran, which can fundamentally alter the geopolitical climate. He urged Congress to support the President’s agenda and remove regulatory hurdles to accelerate economic growth and strengthen national security.
